Board agendas go wrong in familiar ways: timings that exceed the slot, decisions pushed to the end, and standing items out of order. This template fixes the order and puts the numbers up front. A summary page gives the date, venue, quorum and a numbered running order, so every director sees what is expected of them before the papers are opened.
The sample is the January 2027 board of Saltmarsh Group, a fictional company: a 90-minute meeting, seven of eight directors present, and three resolutions taken in 45 minutes before any other business. Replace the date, names, amounts and item titles, keep the standing items in order, and check that the minutes still add up to the length of the meeting.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Replace the date, venue, quorum and director names, then update the three headline figures to match your meeting.
Rewrite each item as a question or an outcome, give it an owner and minutes, and make the minutes total the meeting length.
Keep the standing items in your constitution's order, and move the items for decision ahead of any other business.
Delete the Make it yours page, then share the agenda with directors at least 48 hours before the meeting.
Yes. It is a free Google Docs template. Make a copy to your own Drive and edit it as you like, with no sign-up beyond your Google account.
Yes, but check your articles or constitution first. The sample follows the usual order for a formal board: apologies, declarations, minutes, matters arising, decisions, then AOB.
No. Saltmarsh Group, its directors, the venue and every figure are fictional sample content. Replace all of it with your own details before you send the agenda.
