Overview

Onboarding goes wrong in the gaps between people: the laptop nobody ordered, the account nobody created, the check-in nobody scheduled. This checklist assigns each step to the manager, IT, HR or the new hire, and groups steps by when they need to happen.

It imports into Notion as a page of checklists. Duplicate it for each new hire so progress is tracked per person.

Useful for

  • Small companies formalising onboarding for the first time
  • Managers onboarding several hires in parallel
  • Remote teams that need onboarding written down rather than improvised

  • Pre-boarding checklist (before day one)
  • Day one checklist
  • Week one checklist
  • 30, 60 and 90 day check-in prompts
  • Owner labels on every step: Manager, IT, HR, New hire
