Manager Onboarding Plan

New starters drift when nobody has said who they will meet, what they should deliver or when feedback happens. This template gives hiring managers and HR one plan: a pre-boarding timeline, a first-week schedule, week-by-week Gantt charts for each phase, key dates and five booked check-ins.
The sample follows Priya Nair, a new Operations Coordinator at Bramblewood Logistics, from an offer on 15 March 2027 to a day-90 conversation on 10 July 2027. Replace the name, role, dates, buddy, goals and meeting times, and remove any page that does not apply to the role.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Enter the new starter's name, role, start date, manager and buddy on the cover and in the contacts list.
Replace the sample 30-60-90 goals with three outcomes per phase that the manager can observe, and edit the first-week schedule to match real meetings.
Set the dates for the five check-ins in the calendar before day one and share the plan with the starter.
Delete the guide page, then share the plan with the new starter, their buddy and HR.
Most roles take 8 to 16 weeks to reach full productivity, so a 90-day plan with check-ins at day 1, week 1, and days 30, 60 and 90 covers the key stages.
Yes. Delete any page or Gantt row that does not fit, such as the dispatch desk shadowing, and keep the pre-boarding list and the check-ins for every role.
No. Bramblewood Logistics, Priya Nair, the colleagues, phone numbers, dates and figures are fictional sample data. Replace all of them with your own details.
