This free Google Docs template gives a clinic one shared plan for the first 90 days of a new clinical starter. It sets out what must be ready before day one, the mandatory training and systems access in week one, supervised practice, the competency sign-offs and a day 90 review. Each page answers one question the starter, the manager or HR will ask, so nobody has to chase the next step.
The sample is a plan for Amara Osei, a fictional nurse starting at Riverside Clinic, part of Kettleby Group, a fictional healthcare organisation. Its names, dates and modules are invented. Replace the starter's details, the goals and the first-week meetings with your own, then remove any section that does not apply to the role before the plan is shared.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Enter the new starter's name, role, start date, manager and buddy on the cover page.
Replace the sample goals and first-week meetings with the ones your clinic actually uses.
Remove the sections that do not apply to the role, then set the five check-in dates in the calendar.
Delete the guide page, then share the plan with the starter, manager and HR before day one.
Yes. Sharing it before day one lets the starter see what happens and who to ask. Keep clinical records out of the plan, which should cover only the induction steps.
No. Kettleby Group, Riverside Clinic, Amara Osei, the modules and every date are fictional sample data. Replace them with your own details before you share the plan.
Record the gap in the review, agree a named plan with the clinical educator, and set a new check-in date. A late sign-off is a planning signal, not a failure of the starter.
