Overview

Every weekday at nine, the workflow sends each team member a Slack message with the standup questions and a link to a short form. Answers are saved as rows in a Google Sheet as people submit them, so nobody has to wait for a meeting.

Four hours later the workflow reads the sheet, keeps the answers for today, combines them and posts one digest to the team channel. People who have not answered are simply left out, and the digest is still posted.

Useful for

  • Replace a daily standup meeting with a written update
  • Surface blockers early, before the midday planning call
  • Keep a searchable log of what each person finished and planned

What's included

  • An n8n workflow with 12 nodes, ready to import
  • Trigger: Weekday 9am
  • Connects Slack, Sheets
  • Sticky notes on the canvas that explain what to set up
  • No credentials inside: you connect your own accounts

  4. 4

What you need

Requirements

  • A Slack workspace where the bot can message users, and a Google account with a sheet

Works with

  • n8n 1.x (cloud or self-hosted)

Questions

Is this n8n workflow free?

Yes. Download the JSON and import it into your own n8n. There is no sign-up and no cost.

Does it include any credentials?

No. The file has no keys, tokens or real Slack IDs. You connect your own accounts after importing.

What if someone answers after the digest is posted?

Their answer is still logged in the sheet. Change the Wait 4 hours node to post the digest later in the day.
