A new manager or a team after a review often has a goal, a list of issues and no order to tackle them in. This plan converts the goal into specific actions, each with one owner, a due date and a way of checking it worked. It is laid out in three thirty-day blocks, covering listening, building and scaling, followed by a measures page that keeps the sponsor informed.
The sample follows a fictional engineering team at Bramblewood Engineering, with three measures, a baseline for each, weekly progress checks and a review in June. Replace the goal, actions, owners and dates with your own, make sure every action starts with a verb, and set the review date before the first week ends.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Replace the Bramblewood Engineering name, the goal and the three measures on the first page with your own.
Rewrite each action starting with a verb, give it one owner, and spread the due dates across the 90 days.
Delete the guide page, set the review dates and who checks them, then share the plan with each owner.
