A project can lose its first weeks to misunderstandings about why it matters, what is in scope and who decides. This kickoff deck prevents that by walking the team through the purpose, a scope split into in, out and later, the people and their roles, five milestones, four working agreements, a risk table and first-week actions with owners and dates.
The sample is the kickoff for Project Lantern, a customer order tracking portal at the fictional Tallowfield Works, with a $240,000 budget and a launch on April 12, 2027. Replace the project name, purpose and sponsor ask first, then rewrite the scope with three in and three out items you have already agreed, fill in real names, and finish with first-week actions.
Click Make a copy in Google Slides, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Replace the project name, purpose and sponsor note, and rewrite the scope slide with three in-scope and three out-of-scope items you have already agreed.
Fill the team slide with real names and roles, then swap the milestone dates for your baseline plan and highlight the first decision gate.
Finish with first-week actions, each with an owner and a date, and leave time for questions rather than reading the slides aloud.
Delete the Make it yours slide, then present the deck.
Aim for 45 to 90 minutes with 6 to 15 people. Use the slides as prompts, not a script, and leave at least a third of the time for questions and agreeing the first steps.
Short rules the team agrees at the start, such as decisions in the project channel and replies within 4 working hours. Keep them specific enough to check, not vague like communicate openly.
No. The company, the project, the people and every figure are fictional sample content. Replace them with your own details before you present.
