A process is hard to improve or audit until someone writes down what really happens. This template documents a process in eight pages: a title block with owner and scope, a layered process map, the steps in detail, a RACI matrix with one accountable person per step, inputs and outputs, a control register and a status page with measures.
The sample describes a fictional purchase-to-pay process at Pennyroyal Group, with a 9 day cycle time, 86% first-pass yield, a 2% match tolerance and a £4,000 approval limit. Replace the process name, redraw the flow with the people who do the work, fill the RACI row by row and swap in counts from the last three months.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Name your process, owner, trigger and end point in the title block, and cap the scope at one start and one finish.
Redraw the process map from a walk-through with the people who do the work, including the exceptions route.
Fill the RACI row by row, replace the sample figures with counts from the last three months and update the controls.
Delete the guide page, then share the document with the process team.
Yes. Make a copy in Google Docs at no cost and edit the map, steps, RACI and controls in your own Drive.
No. Pennyroyal Group, its people and every figure are fictional sample content. Replace them with your own details before sharing.
Yes. Purchase to pay is only the worked example. The layers, RACI, scope table and control register suit onboarding, order fulfillment, claims or any repeatable process.
