Overview

Web forms send data in slightly different shapes. This workflow gives them one entry point: a webhook that accepts a JSON or form POST, maps the fields to a consistent structure and checks whether the lead includes a company and a valid-looking email.

Qualified and unqualified leads leave the workflow on separate branches. Connect each branch to wherever your team works, such as a Google Sheet, a CRM or a chat channel.

Useful for

  • Collecting leads from a website form, landing page builder or ad platform
  • Standardising lead data before it reaches a CRM or spreadsheet
  • Separating qualified leads so they get a faster response

What's included

  • Webhook trigger accepting POST requests
  • Edit Fields node mapping name, email, company, message and source
  • If node checking for a company name and an email address
  • Respond to Webhook node returning a JSON confirmation
  • Two placeholder No Operation nodes marking where to connect your own destinations

How to use it

  1. 1

    Download the workflow JSON.

  2. 2

In n8n, create a new workflow, open the … menu and choose Import from File, then select the JSON.

  3. 3

Open the Webhook node and copy the test URL.

  4. 4

    Send a test request, for example: curl -X POST <test-url> -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"name":"Ada","email":"ada@example.com","company":"Example Ltd"}'

  5. 5

Check the Edit Fields output, then replace the two No Operation nodes with your destinations (Google Sheets, a CRM or Slack).

  6. 6

Point your form at the production webhook URL and activate the workflow.

What you need

Requirements

  • A self-hosted or cloud n8n instance (version 1.x)
  • A form or service that can send an HTTP POST request

Works with

  • n8n 1.x (cloud or self-hosted)

Questions

Does the workflow include any credentials?

No. n8n exports never contain credentials. You add your own when you connect the destination nodes.

How do I protect the webhook from spam?

Enable header authentication on the Webhook node and send the matching header from your form handler, or add a CAPTCHA to the form itself.
