Overview

This workshop slides template is a ready-made Google Slides deck for trainers who teach a practical skill in one session. It moves through objectives, an explanation, a live demonstration, paired practice and a check of the work, then a recap, in twelve slides that a participant can follow without extra explanation.

Each slide uses sample content for Thistledown Digital, a fictional software studio, with a backlog of user stories as the example. Replace the examples, timings and pre-work with your own, and time each block before the session. Keep the check slide, since it is the only part that shows whether learning happened.

Useful for

  • A half-day session for product managers writing their first stories
  • Onboarding a support team to a new ticket template
  • A two-hour refresher for analysts on acceptance criteria

What's included

  • Explain and demonstrate slides with a worked example
  • Practice slides with paired steps and a timer
  • Check slide with three tests every story must pass
  • Recap slide with pilot results and key figures
  • Guide slide and a closing slide with contacts

Questions

Are the studio, people and stories real?

No. Thistledown Digital, its staff, the sample backlog and every result are fictional, written to show a finished workshop deck.

Can I teach a skill other than writing stories?

Yes. Keep the four blocks and the check, then replace the examples and exercise with the task your participants must learn to do alone.

How many people should attend?

Between six and sixteen works best, so that each pair gets feedback and the group can still hear every reflection in the review.
