Strategic plans fail when they list ten goals, name no budget and sit unread after the away day. This template forces the choices: a mission and vision, an honest starting point, a few goals with baselines and targets, a scorecard, resourcing by priority and a governance page that says who decides.
The sample is a 2027 to 2029 plan for a fictional manufacturer, Larkspur Manufacturing, with four goals, a $3.0M investment phased 30/40/30, and a RACI table for decisions. Replace the mission, facts, targets and budget with your own, and state what you will not pursue.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Replace the mission and vision with your agreed wording, and fill the starting-point page with three facts you can source, including one uncomfortable one.
Cut the goals to the number you can fund, give each a baseline and a target, and update the scorecard and the charts.
Rewrite resourcing with real budget and headcount per priority and year, then set who reviews progress, how often and what triggers a rethink.
Delete the Make it yours guide page, then share the plan with your board and staff.
Three to five, each with two to four initiatives. The sample has four, listed in priority order, so the board can see which one is funded first if money is short.
Yes. Swap the manufacturing measures for your own, such as waiting times, attainment or share of income from the top donor, and keep the baseline, target and owner for each.
No. Larkspur Manufacturing, the people named and every figure and chart are fictional sample data. Replace them with your own before you share the plan.
