Roadmaps go wrong when every idea gets an exact date, every item looks equally important and dependencies on other teams are left out. This deck gives product and project leads a twelve-slide structure: an overview in numbers, a swimlane roadmap by team, one slide for each quarter, a dependency table and a clear list of what is not on the roadmap.
The sample follows Willowmere Digital's 2027 portal roadmap: eight initiatives in four lanes, £1.9M of investment, five committed dates, and a goal to cut client onboarding from 20 days to 14. Relabel the quarters, replace the lanes with your teams, mark each item's confidence and set a review date.
Click Make a copy in Google Slides, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Choose your time horizon and relabel the quarters, then replace the four swimlanes with your own teams or themes.
Mark each initiative as committed, planned or exploring, and remove exact dates from the last group.
Add the two or three dependencies most likely to move your dates, then set a review date and name the roadmap owner.
Delete the guide slide, then share or present the deck.
No. Willowmere Digital, the people named and every date and figure are fictional sample content. Replace them with your own initiatives, owners and investment.
No. Only committed items carry dates. Planned items hold a quarter, and exploring items are ideas. Showing the difference stops teams reading intentions as promises.
Yes. Relabel the four periods as years, keep three to five lanes, and show fewer initiatives per period. The quarter detail slides can become year slides.
