Business Plan Executive Summary

Busy executives and board members read the summary and little else, so it has to stand alone: the numbers, the recommendation and the decision requested. This deck puts that on slide two, then adds supporting slides for findings, cost, investment, risks, customer impact and next steps so each claim can be checked.
The sample follows Netherby Logistics, a fictional carrier asking its board to close one depot and run two hubs. It shows a $480k annual saving, a 22 month payback on $880k and a 12% lower cost per parcel, each repeated consistently across slides. Replace the recommendation, figures, owners and dates with your own.
Click Make a copy in Google Slides, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Write your full document first, then replace the summary slide with the three findings that most change the reader's mind.
Check every figure on every slide against your main report and cut anything that does not appear there.
State the recommendation and the ask with a date and an amount, and name an owner for each risk and step.
Delete the guide slide, then present the deck or share it as a cover sheet for the full paper.
No more than about 10% of the full document, and short enough to read aloud in under two minutes. If it runs longer, cut the weakest finding rather than shrinking the text.
No. Netherby Logistics, the named people, the email address and every figure and date are fictional sample content. Replace them with your own before you share.
Write the full document first, then the summary, and update the summary every time the report changes. Never include a figure that is not in the main document.
