A monthly finance report often lists balances and leaves the reader to guess what they mean for cash, risk and the decisions ahead. This CFO report template gives the finance director's read in one short deck: liquidity, debt, hedging, covenants and bank relationships, each with a number and a plain reason. It ends with the asks, stated as decisions with an owner.
The sample describes Ironvale Holdings, a fictional group with £14.2M of cash, £9M undrawn and net debt of 1.3 times EBITDA against a 2.5 times covenant. Replace the balances, facilities, hedges and bank figures with your own treasury data, and add the 13-week cash view before the meeting. Keep the commentary to the drivers of each number, not a repeat of the table.

Set the month and replace the headline with the one message the leadership team must hear.
Replace the actual, budget and forecast figures with your own, and check each total.
Add the 13-week cash view and covenant headroom from treasury before you circulate the deck.
Delete the guide slide, then share the deck with the leadership team or present it from Google Slides.
No. Ironvale Holdings, its lenders, facilities, hedges, covenants, balances and staff are fictional sample data. Replace them with your own treasury figures before you circulate the report.
Eight to ten slides is enough for most months, with the headlines first and the asks on the last content slide. Put the detail in an appendix that people can open if they want it.
The drivers of each number: why cash moved, why a forecast changed and what would change it. A commentary that repeats the table adds nothing, and a forecast changed without a reason invites questions.
