Handover goes wrong when snags, certificates and warranties live in separate emails. This seven-page report puts them together: a completion timeline, a snagging register with risk ratings, the certificates required, a warranty summary, an as-built drawing status and a work breakdown of the handover record.
The sample closes the fit-out of a fictional three-floor office building by Willowmere Digital, certified on 19 March 2027, two weeks late and 3.1% over a £4.2M budget, with five snags open. Replace the dates, costs, snags and certificate list with your own and name an owner for every open item.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Insert your approved baseline and final actuals for date and cost, and say plainly by how much each differs.
List every open snag with an owner and a date, and replace the certificate and warranty lists with your own.
Update the drawing status by discipline and the handover work breakdown with your real owners and hours.
Delete the Make it yours page, then collect the client's signature and share the report.
State the completion date against the baseline, final cost, open snags with owners, certificates, warranties, as-built drawings and the defects period, so nothing is ambiguous after handover.
No. Willowmere Digital, the Calder Row project, its people and every figure are fictional sample content. Replace all of it with the facts of your own project.
Yes. Practical completion allows minor snags, but each should have an owner and a date. Unowned items are the usual reason retention release and the final account get delayed.
