Technical talks fail when slides become the script. This deck keeps one problem, one story and a few lessons, with short lines in large type that stay readable from the back of a big room. It runs from cover and speaker intro through the story, key ideas, a demo plan and a takeaways slide.
The sample follows a fictional talk from Gorsefield Labs about cutting p95 cache lookups from 480 ms to 140 ms, including two fixes that failed. Replace the title, the hook, the numbers and the demo steps with your own, then put your three takeaways and repository link on the closing slide.
Click Make a copy in Google Slides, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Replace the cover title and promise, and check they match the abstract you submitted.
Rewrite the story slides around your real incident, number or surprise, and keep at least one dead end.
Cut each code sample to the smallest fragment, enlarge it, and swap in your own benchmark with its environment.
Delete the Make it yours guide slide, then share the deck or present it.
Roughly one slide per minute. This template has 10 designed slides, so duplicate the story or key idea slides for a longer talk and trim for a lightning talk.
No. Gorsefield Labs, the speaker, the email addresses and every figure are fictional sample content. Replace them with your own talk, data and contact details.
Yes. Paste 8 to 12 lines at 24 pt or larger on a content slide. If a sample needs more room, cut it down or show it as a diagram instead.
