Overview

This employment termination template is a ready-made Google Docs letter for employers who must confirm a decision after a fair process. It sets out the decision, the reasons, the notice period, final pay and the appeal route across seven designed pages, in plain and neutral language.

Each page carries sample facts for Hartwell Logistics, a fictional carrier, and a fictional employee, so you can see how a finished letter reads. Replace the names, dates and reasons with your own, and check every statement against your records and local law before sending. The appeal page should stay in, since it protects both sides.

Useful for

Questions

Are the employee and company real?

No. Hartwell Logistics, Jordan Blake, the hearing dates and every figure are fictional sample material, written to show a finished letter.

Does this letter replace legal advice?

No. Employment rules vary by state and by contract. Use this as a structure, and have an employment lawyer check the reasons, notice and pay before the letter is sent.

Should the letter be sent by email?

Send it in the way your policy requires, usually in a meeting first and then in writing, and keep proof of delivery with the signed copy on file.
