Overview

This template works out the monthly payment on a loan and shows how every payment is split between interest and principal. The Loan tab takes the amount, rate, term and first payment date. The Schedule tab lists the first 60 months with the balance after each payment.

The Dashboard totals the payment, the interest and the amount repaid, and shows how the balance falls over the first five years. It suits a mortgage, car loan or personal loan.

It comes with sample data. Make a copy, then replace the sample loan with your own figures. Formulas and charts update on their own.
