When two reminders have gone unanswered, the final demand has to be exact and defensible. This three-page letter sets out the invoice lines, the late interest and fixed compensation worked out from the actual days overdue, the amount now due, the deadline, and the steps that follow.
The sample chases a £9,600 invoice that is 38 days overdue, adds £115 of interest at 11.5% a year and £60 of compensation, and asks for £9,775 by 19 April 2027. Replace the invoice details, rate, dates and contact with your own, and only promise steps you will take.
Click Make a copy in Google Docs, then confirm on the Google page. The copy is saved to your own Google Drive.
Enter the invoice number, dates and amounts exactly as they appear on your ledger, and recalculate interest on the actual days late.
Replace the deadline with a real date, and list only the next steps your company will genuinely take.
Add your credit controller's direct email and phone, and keep a written dispute route in the checklist.
Delete the guide page, then send the letter to the customer's payment contact with the approver copied in.
No. Eastlake Group, the people, the invoice number and every figure in the sample are fictional. Replace them with your own invoice details before sending.
The sample uses 11.5% a year, which is base rate plus 8%, on £9,600 for 38 days, giving £115. Check the rate in your terms or the statute and use the real days late.
It is written as a final notice. For a first reminder, keep the invoice page, soften the deadline wording and delete the interest and compensation lines.
